MUSEUM PIECES

I have had the pleasure to work on some noteable animated pieces for museums. As a history buff this is something I look forward to working more on in the future. Here are a couple of examples below of my favourites; Plymouth Museum and the Burj Al Arab Museum

BURJ AL ARAB MUSEUM.

Not doing anything by half measures, the famous Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai of course has a whole in-house museum dedicated to itself. I helped create content for this museum, working in collaboration with Pixel Artworks and a very talented illustrator, on screens content throughout, here are some of my favourite contributions.

THE GRAND ENTRANCE TO PLYMOUTH MUSEUM.

One of the centrepieces to Plymouth’s new museum is a vast projection show celebrating the city of Plymouth’s rich history from prehistoric times to the present day. I was tasked as lead animator for this mammoth undertaking to adapt this wealth of stories into dynamic and dramatic filmic sequences, wonderfully narrated by Dawn French. The aim of the projection was to blow the audience away with this immersive 6 minute show projected onto cobbled rock. It was also to set the bar for the rich and fascinating stories of Plymouth in the exhibitions beyond.

PLYMOUTH MUSEUM - DEVELOPMENT.

When I lead a project, I often create concept sketches for the preliminary stages. Here’s a few examples from just a handful of scenes of the 6 minute show.

PLYMOUTH MUSEUM - THE SHOW.

PLYMOUTH MUSEUM - THE BEST BITS.

With such a wealth of animated work, this was inevitably a big show and needed a team to build it, but below is a highlight reel of the shots for which I played a major part in creating.
