THE EMMYS 2021

I was tasked as lead animator with Hello Charlie for the 73rd Emmy Awards.

Supporting a team of six, creating a gorgeous selection of award ceremony graphics for the full televised broadcast package as well as the graphics for the show screens.

The client invested generous time in allowing us to develop the look and feel of the statue and visual language. Here is a short breakdown of my personal contributions to the show and its development.

CATEGORY HEADERS

These title cards, used for TV Broadcast at the beginning and end of a nominee package helped shape the look and feel of the whole show, and was our opportunity as animators to take the limelight for a few seconds within this star-studded event.

SHOW TIME

For the event, the set designers opted for a fashion show catwalk style layout, with super wide screens left and right of the talent below.

With such an unusual aspect ratio, I developed a layout that worked well for visibility from any point in the room and designed an elegant look that encapsulated the look of art deco classic Hollywood, embodied in our hero colours: racing green, wine red, midnight blue, and champagne.
