WARWICK CASTLE’S ‘DRAGON SLAYER’.

After the roaring success of 2018’s Dragon Slayer debut, the folks at Warwick Castle wanted the following summer’s exhilarating projection show to be even bigger than the last.

I was tasked, as lead, to concept and animate from script to screen more exciting sagas of the legendary Guy of Warwick,

THE CANVAS.

The Dragon Slayer show is an immersive show, with the crowd surrounded by four projected buildings: The Great Wall, Guy’s Tower, The Gate House and the Great Hall.

CONCEPT VISUALS.

After the initial storyboarding, I created photoshop visuals for the client, Merlin, of the three new scenes to be created.

FINAL OUTCOME.

CHAPTER 1:

“THE STAINED GLASS SAGAS”.

CHAPTER 2:

“THE MONSTER’S FROM MY NIGHTMARES”.

CHAPTER 3:

“THE PROJECTION TRICKS FINALE”.

STAINED GLASS PAINTINGS

Created on the sketching app ‘Procreate’ on iPad.

To create the stained glass stories of the dramatic life of Guy of Warwick, I needed to interpret the characters and scenes from the rest of the show into digital painting. I really enjoyed working in this colourful stained glass style to highlight the medieval character of the castle backdrop.
